Relationship Counselling in Vancouver - A Closer Look

What Relationship Counselling Can Help With:

Relationships can bring out some of our deepest fears and oldest patterns, particularly around trust, closeness, conflict, and being truly seen by another person. Whether you're navigating a specific conflict, experiencing the same argument repeatedly, or trying to understand why closeness feels more challenging than it should, relationship counselling provides a supportive space to slow down and examine what's truly happening underneath.

Relationship difficulties often encompass more than just one issue; they typically intertwine communication, trust, and identity all at once. In my practice, which offers counselling services in Vancouver, I help individuals confront:

- Communication breakdowns or recurring conflict

- Relationship anxiety, including fears of abandonment or difficulty in trusting a partner

- Attachment patterns that tend to re-emerge across different relationships

- Rebuilding trust after a rupture, betrayal, or challenging period

- Navigating significant relationship transitions—such as moving in together, engagement, non-monogamy, or separation

- Feelings of disconnection from a partner

This work is offered through individual counselling services—supporting one person at a time in making sense of their relationship, rather than providing couples sessions, which are available as a separate service.

Relationship Counselling Vancouver: Understanding Your Needs

Do you offer couples counselling services in Vancouver?

Yes. However, I am not accepting couples at this time; my website will be updated when this counselling service becomes available.

Can relationship counselling help even if my partner won't come to therapy?

Yes. Individual relationship counselling focuses on your own patterns, needs, and responses. It doesn't require your partner's participation - meaningful change in how you show up can shift the relationship even on its own.

What is relationship anxiety?

Relationship anxiety often shows up as persistent worry about a partner's feelings, fear of abandonment, or difficulty trusting that a relationship is secure, even without clear evidence of a problem. It's a common and very workable pattern in counselling, and many clients find relief through effective counselling services in Vancouver.

Do you offer online relationship counselling?

Yes. I provide secure online sessions to clients across British Columbia, as well as in-person sessions at my East Vancouver office.

Is relationship counselling covered by insurance?

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) services are covered under most extended health plans in BC. See my Rates & Coverage page for details, or check your specific plan for counselling or psychotherapy coverage.
