Elizabeth Schweizer Therapy is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, how I use it, and how you can contact me with questions.

When you use this website, I may collect the following personal information:

• Contact form submissions: your name, email address, phone number, and any message you choose to include.
• Booking information: if you book a consultation or appointment through my online scheduling system (Jane App), that platform collects information directly — please see Jane App's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
• Basic technical information: like most websites, this site may automatically collect general browsing information (such as browser type or pages visited) through standard web analytics and cookies, used only to understand overall site traffic — not to identify you personally.

I do not collect payment information through this website; payments are handled directly, in session or through Jane App.

I collect this information only to:

• Respond to your inquiry or request for a consultation
• Schedule and manage appointments
• Maintain basic records related to prospective and current clients, consistent with my professional obligations as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

I do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond what's described here, and I do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

I take reasonable steps to protect the personal information you share with me, including using a secure, reputable booking platform (Jane App) for scheduling and client communication. No online transmission is ever 100% secure, but I aim to limit access to your information to what's necessary to provide you with care.

As a sole practitioner, I am the only person with access to information submitted through this website or through Jane App, except where:

• You explicitly ask me to share information with another provider (for example, for a referral or coordinated care)
• I am required to disclose information by law (see "Limits to Confidentiality" below)
• Jane App's own staff require limited technical access to operate the platform (governed by their own privacy policy)

Separately from this website's data practices, please note that in-session client confidentiality has legal and ethical limits under BC law and the standards of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). These include situations involving risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected child abuse or neglect, or a court order. If you become a client, I'll review this in more detail as part of our informed consent process before we begin working together.

• General website inquiries (from the contact form, if you don't go on to become a client) are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your message, and then deleted.
• Clinical records for current or former clients are retained in accordance with BCACC's professional record-keeping requirements.

This site may use basic cookies to support normal website functionality and to understand general visitor traffic. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect how some parts of the site function.
